How to Analyze a Power File

I learned a lot about power data analysis when I worked at TrainingPeaks, and always thought the science could be simplified and explained in more practical terms. In this 2014 piece—one of my first stories as a freelance journalist—I set out to do that. (If Slowtwitch had been more into click-y heds it probably would have been something like, “These are the only 5 numbers you ever need to look at on your power meter!”) Reading it now, I see tons of edits I could make to tighten—but I still think the information was really valuable and, at that point, had yet to be presented like this.
