It’s always a challenge to see if you can do an annual package in a fresh way. Traditionally, our Editors’ Choice awards package included reviews on each winning bike. This year, we tried something new: What if we didn’t feature the bikes at all (or at least, put them in the back seat)? Instead, we devoted the package to helping our readers understand why 2016 truly was such an exciting year for mountain bike tech—and thus a great year to buy a trail bike.
